Established 1982 on our winery property. The Seventeen Rows is an original Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir vineyard, part of the very first wave of Pinto Noir. This is a heritage site. We have persisted with the wide spacing, zero irrigation, and organic farming regime to contribute to this unique Pinot proposition. The 2023 harvest was low yielding and gentle ripening allowing the site to fully express its potential.
"Medium-deep and bright ruby with a lot of purple in the meniscus; the bouquet is complex with five spice, charcuterie, dried-herb and dried cherry aromas. The palate follows on from the nose and has concentration and depth, impressive persistence and a harmonious structure of ample tannins. Both the oak and whole-bunch components are beautifully balanced and subtle. Still ascending and possibly even better in a year. "
